The Fort Collins geohash for 9 July 2008 was located within what used to be the Dry Creek Minor subdivision just north of the old Downtown Fort Collins Airport. The airport shut down a year or two ago, and the area around it is slowly being redeveloped.

Google's satellite imagery seemed to show homes within the subdivision, but the street view showed the area devoid of buildings. I figured, hey, if the Google camera car could get up there, I certainly could on a bike.

I arrived right about 4 p.m. and reached the (former) subdivision at the end of a very depressing road in an industrial/commercial park area. There was one structure remaining with only a couple cars parked nearby, so I breezed on in. Just as I passed the building, two men exited and shouted "private property!" at me loudly and angrily. I turned around and left the subdivision, and only then did I really notice the chain-link fencing and "No Trespassing" signs.

I snapped a couple of pictures next to the fence and the signs and took off pretty quickly, 'cause it seemed like they were still eyeing me suspiciously. I didn't stick around to see if anyone else showed up.
